New Moon Vegan is located at 119 S Batavia Ave in historic Batavia, IL.
With a ribbon cutting ceremony taking place in June of this year, New Moon Vegan is amongst the newer brick and mortar stores in Batavia. Jo and Jay Colagiacomi are committed to serving up the most delicious plant-based sweet and savories to our community. The pair got their start at the Batavia Boardwalk shops and have since attracted the vegan community and seemingly everyone else who simply enjoys the remarkable offerings from this family run business. Jo and Jay are from Staten Island and pride themselves on offering vegan versions of the classics you love combined with a fresh take on what may become the classics of our time. There isn’t a recipe that Jo hasn’t been able to make a similarly (or more so) delicious version of!
I met the pair for the first time early in their venture as I regularly bought and devoured treats from the boardwalk shop. Since then, I have tried everything from their sandwiches, cookies, muffins, cupcakes, cakes… and don’t even get me started on the jalapeno pretzel dog. It’s my favorite. I love a good, sweet treat but I’m a sucker for a savory lunch with a kick. They also do a phenomenal job sourcing products and ingredients from local producers and growers. One of the more recent visits, I was enjoying a cold brew coffee from Manbot Coffee Roasters and telling Jo how much I enjoyed it, and she quickly pointed to Chris, the co-owner and operator of the Roastery, who was seated enjoying breakfast with his family. It was so refreshing getting face to face with the people who work so hard to contribute products and services to our community.
If you would like to visit Jo and Jay, you can find them at 119 S Batavia Ave. And, next time you are in, please tell them Kristine says hi!
