Trend + Relic is a collection of over 45 merchants who are artisans, builders, refinishers and painters and offer the most special items to adorn your homes. Their talented merchants work hard to create and curate only the best and most unique items, both vintage and new.
Before I made my way over to Trend + Relic I had already been warned by many friends and family that I was going to love the store. And they were right! The part I was not expecting was how enormous the space is! I’m not kidding when I say it would be easy to spend the better part of a day just looking at everything in all the booths. And with so many merchants there’s truly something for everyone. There are booths that feature only vintage collections and others that are only new items. Many of the shops have a blend of both old and new alike! And it’s not just home décor it’s also furniture, clothing, gift items, plants, food and more.
Karri Custardo is the co-owner of Trend + Relic and gave me a tour when I stopped by to film the Know Your Neighbors of the Fox Valley video feature. Karri told me they were looking for a larger place in St. Charles and when this location came up for sale, she knew it was perfect. In just over a year the shop has been expanded to include an additional space making the total square feet now up to 1,100 (with the opportunity to expand further by taking over adjoining space). The location is unique because it used to be an old print shop, the previous owners manufactured all the labels for Campbell Soup Company. The building has tall 14 foot ceilings and garage doors that bring in beautiful natural light.
Trend + Relic is open Tuesday through Saturday 10am -5pm and Sunday 11am – 4pm. But plan for at least an hour to make it through the shop and even more time if you’re like me and love to linger over all the beautiful items.

I also picked up a vintage fur jacket, a gold bowl that I’m using in the center of my dinner table to hold fruit, and a “found” candle that was a collaboration with Scentcerely Yours. I picked up Karri’s favorite scent called “at home” with notes of white tea and black sea, it’s amazing! I can’t wait to go shopping again to see what other treasures I can bring home.
