Light & Pine Collective with Jenni Zielke and Suzy Ray

Light and Pine is located at the Wilson Street Mercantile at 222 E Wilson St, Batavia, IL 60510.

Light and Pine is co-owned by Jenni Zielke and Suzy Ray. “Jenni and Suzy are bringing together handcrafted wooden home decor, eco-conscious soy candles, and other curated local artisan items to re-awaken your space.” Their beautiful shop not only sells wares from their independently run companies (Illuminate Space and Real Happy Space) but also sells items from over 20 other women owned crafters and companies.

Jenni and Suzy were childhood friends who came back together in their adult lives when they both decided to participate in the first season of the Batavia Boardwalk Shops. They made the choice that rather than going it alone they would team up and have a store together. At the end of the season, they wanted to continue their journey so they took on a rather large lease with the Wilson Street Mercantile where Light and Pine is now located. They sublease the remaining space to Desmond Brown, lily & pie and the Unboring Granola.

Jenni runs a successful candle business called Illuminate Space. She says of her business, “We create multi-sensory experiences for the everyday trendsetter. We breathe life into existing decor, brighten spaces with our candles, and re-awaken senses with our essential oil blends. Magic and beauty are all around us; let’s throw some light on it!” My favorite products in her line are the Illuminate Space Signature scented candles and her all-purpose cleaning spray. I look forward to using the cleaner because it makes my house smell SO good. You can also buy refills for your spray bottles! I also reached out to Jenni earlier this year to help me put together baby shower gifts. The tea candles she made were a hit!

I am in totally awe of what Suzy can create at her business Real Happy Space. She is a wood worker who specializes in wooden home décor and signs. Here’s what she has to say about Real Happy Space, “Our goal is to create beautiful spaces that function in a modern home through handmade wooden decor. We offer flexible pieces that complement any design style. Custom orders welcome – let us make the perfect piece for your space!” My guess is you’ve seen her signs all around town. She’s made them for Light and Pine, Haley B’s Bakery, House of 423, Six Cypress Boutique and many more! She also created wooden décor items for you house and can customize them however you like!
